Easy doesn’t always do it
I was standing outside Kings Cross station recently, waiting to meet up with someone, when I was approached by a street fundraiser. If you’re someone who wants to avoid ‘chuggers’ the rule is always to keep moving – stand still for a moment and you’re an inevitable target with no excuse for not engaging in a conversation. But personally I don’t mind talking to them. I like hearing about the work of other charities and I’m intrigued by what tactics they’re going to use to try to get me to part with my money. And as somebody who already gives regularly I’m quite comfortable saying no!
Think face-to-face: think mobile
It really does make sense when you think about it. Using mobile as the key device to keep in touch with donors recruited via face to face (on the street).
